Coopbank Participates in the Ethiopia Finance Forum

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia | Coopbank is participating in the Ethiopia Finance Forum, organized by the National Bank of Ethiopia and being held at the national level for the second time.
Coopbank CEO, Mr. Deribie Asfaw, participated as a panelist in a session focused on financial inclusion, sharing the Bank’s experience and innovative approaches to expanding access to financial services across Ethiopia.
During the discussion, Mr. Deribie highlighted Michu Digital Loans, Coopbank’s pioneering uncollateralized digital lending service, which is transforming access to credit for young people, women entrepreneurs, farmers, MSMEs, informal businesses, and underserved communities. Through digital lending, Michu is helping businesses access finance, expand their operations, strengthen livelihoods, and contribute to economic growth.
He also highlighted Coopbank’s efforts to empower women and young people through inclusive financial solutions that create opportunities for individuals and businesses to grow.

The Ethiopia Finance Forum brings together financial institutions, partners, private sector stakeholders, and members of the global Ethiopian diaspora to exchange experiences, explore opportunities, and discuss issues shaping the future of Ethiopia’s financial sector.
